Posted in December 1st, 2007

Dallas South isn’t really a place for I told you so, but I’ll have to ask for some latitude on this one. A September 9th post at Dallas South Sports claimed Southlake Carroll will not win the state title in 2007 and here’s why. An excerpt from the post:
Todd Dodge could have […]

Dallas Skyline wins, Carter loses on an exceptional day of football in Waco and beyond

Posted in December 1st, 2007

I have to say that it seemed like a shaky idea, but the decision to travel to Waco to catch both Skyline and Carter today was a great one.  My homie Coop and I loaded our 3 boys up in the van and hit I-35 South around noon.
We made it to Baylor’s Floyd Casey Stadium […]

by Shawn Williams in High School Football

Dallas South Sports’ second game of the week has the Plano Senior High Wildcats travelling south to face the Carter Cowboys.  This should give the good citizens of Plano a chance to see be wonderful facility DISD has constructed in John Kincaide Stadium.
Carter (1-1) lost an overtime game on the road vs. John Tyler last […]

Dallas South Sports Game of the Week I

Posted in September 13th, 2007
by Shawn Williams in High School Football

Dallas South Sports could not agree on one game of the week for this weekend so we went with two.  Game One features Tyler’s John Tyler Lions traveling to North Texas to face the DeSoto Eagles.
John Tyler (1-1) enters the game having beaten Dallas Carter in a 21-14 overtime home contest.  RB Romonté Hampton led the Lions with 98 yards […]

DeSoto handles Garland 47-14, Adrian Bushell and Cyrus Gray shine in season opener

Posted in September 8th, 2007

The Dallas South Sports game of the week started out close, but things got out of hand quickly. The DeSoto Eagles made their case as one of the state’s better squads with a 47-14 victory over Garland High Owls on Friday Night.
The first quarter had little action, with DeSoto (1-0) scoring first on a […]

Southlake Carroll will not win the state title in 2007 and here’s why

Posted in September 6th, 2007
by Shawn Williams in High School Football

I am a longtime observer of Texas Schoolboy football. Some of my earliest memories as a fan are of running outside barefoot on Saturday mornings to retrieve the newspaper in order to check the statewide scores. I was 7 years old at the time.
Over the years, I’ve tracked a number of football dynasties. […]

Carter defeats Kimball 13-12, scores on game’s final play

Posted in August 31st, 2007

I’m not sure how much more Kimball can do to get a win in the Oak Cliff Super Bowl. Last season the Knights rallied from 22-0 down and scored 20 unanswered points against Carter before a last second pass reception came up short. This year Kimball took heartbreak to another level.
It was Kimball […]
